We treat many different conditions of the abdomen, and each patient requires an individual assessment and treatment plan.

Diagnosis

We perform all of our diagnostics at the One Welbeck Surgery centre. As part of our services we have access to world leading endoscopy services for colonoscopy and state of the art imaging technologies that ensure your diagnosis is reached as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

Day Surgery

Wherever possible we recommend day surgery, which means you will not stay over night. Your surgeon will assess you for your suitability and refer you to an anaesthetist for further assessment if required. All patients having day surgery will require someone to escort them home. However, if you would prefer to remain in hospital over night you are most welcome to do so and we will arrange this at King Edward VII hospital. If you are having major surgery day surgery will not be possible, and your surgeon will discuss this with you in detail.

MDT care

All patients treated for cancer and IBD are managed within a multidisciplinary (MDT) care team. Cancer patients are managed closely with The London Oncology Centre to ensure the best possible medical treatment. You will also have access to specialist nursing staff who have specific expertise in stoma care and in nursing cancer patients.
